Everyday Is Earth Day

For lower elementary, the program includes a compost-themed story and a vermicompost learning and exploration session. Kids learn the full cycle of food from the earth where it grows, to the table, and back again. For upper elementary, students are introduced to urban garden design. Students work in groups to design creative urban garden spaces with their neighborhoods in mind, and then plant seeds to take home. We discuss how edible plants can be grown and harvested right in a window and in small, and vertical spaces.
