Why there is no TWKatHome Activity today
Dear TasteWise Kids community,
I am writing to let you know that we will not be sharing our typical #TWKatHome lesson today and instead encourage our entire community to take some time and space to reflect on current events both locally and nationally.TasteWise Kids celebrates and honors the diverse city of Baltimore and the surrounding communities we serve. We encourage our entire community to take some time and space to reflect on current events both locally and nationally. To the families of color in our community: you are seen and you are heard.
The question we are asking of each of you, and that we will continue to ask and work to answer as an organization is: What changes can we—as individuals and as institutions—make to bring about the world we want and our children deserve?
As a food focused organization, we hold up that food, cooking and the sharing of what we make together are some of the best ways to showcase and celebrate both our diversity and our commonality. We at TasteWise Kids have been, and remain, committed to improving the lives of those we work with by bringing individuals, families, and communities together around food with the ultimate goal of open mindedness and well-being.
This is something I am committed to both personally and professionally.
Stay safe and healthy,
Wendy Jeffries
